i’m not sure you have ever seen the love on your own face, in black eyes smile.
i’ll lend you the mirror for one day in case you try to look.
i don’t think you will.
you always put your face outside yourself, so i know it,
the mirror knows it,
the world knows it.
you do not know it yet.
i’ll lend you the mirror for one day, so you can try to find it;
but i do not imagine you will even look.
the mirror is not kindly,
lends but for a few hours, steals often.
nor is the world kindly,
though it lends more, it steals always.
your eyes make all this love for other people
they black make all this cool for the heat of the sun.
while you, i imagine, all the time inside there burning
waiting it’s return to you.
